Journalism

Our challenging curriculum features an intensive foundational experience in creative writing and investigative writing. With projects including, Forecast a student produced magazine, as well as daily posts to www.GroveWatch.com, Inlet Grove students will graduate with a large variety of skills. Students will engage in multiple on site experiences with local news anchors, journalists and new media contributors to complete a well rounded experience. By the end of the program, students will also be knowledgeable on how to strategically plan, promote and produce magazines and newspapers, as well as live or taped productions. Employment opportunities exist in every community and in all parts of the world.

CB Hanif

C.B. Hanif is an award-winning, veteran, writer, editor and multimedia journalist. His columns, articles and photography have been published in Florida Weekly, The Coastal Star and The South Florida Times. At The Palm Beach Post, Hanif was the world’s longest-serving news ombudsman, as well as an editorial writer, columnist and editor of the letters page. While still a working journalist, Hanif now is helping mentor the next generation of multimedia journalists. His Hurricanes are consistently recognized for their student publications, for example their GroveWatch.com online student news site, ranked among the top four in The Palm Beach Post High School Journalism Awards each of the past five years. During that same period the Canes have earned Palm Beach Post and MLK photography, essay, entertainment writing, cartooning/illustrating and other honors – including the first-place 2020 Pathfinders Communications Award.
